John
Doyle grew up in Charles Town, and graduated from Charles Town High
School.
He graduated from Shepherd College with a B.S. in Political Science
and History.

John
served in Vietnam as an infantry officer, and was awarded the Bronze
Star for valor, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, the Vietnamese
Cross of Gallantry and the Combat Infantry Badge.
He served as our State Delegate for the 55th district for ten years,
and was elected four years ago as Delegate for the new 57th district
that was created after redistricting.
He
is currently Vice-Chair of the House Finance Committee, Chair
of the Higher Education and Public Safety Subcommittee, and a
member of the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education Accountability.
John
writes a regular column for the Shepherdstown Chronicle, and co-hosts
a talk radio program, "Eastern Panhandle Talk," on WRNR,
AM 740.
